The Rio Verde Foothills
Alliance is
a non profit educational and community
services organization founded in January
2001. The Alliance publishes a bi-monthly
newsletter as part of its mandate to provide
property owners in the Rio Verde Foothills
with unbiased, factual,relevant information
In addition,
the Alliance:
• Participated
extensively with the Rio Verde
Foothills Area Plan update
• Sponsors 4 roadside
cleanups annually along 2 miles
of Rio Verde Drive
• Hosts an annual Spring
Fling social and fund raising
event
• Hosts an annual Halloween
Howl in McDowell, a family
Halloween party
• Launched the Moms & Tots
Network, which includes kid-friendly
activities, Moms’ Hour
Out get-togethers, and a babysitter
database
• Holds an annual snake
training clinic for dogs, where
dogs are trained to avoid rattlesnakes
• Publishes an annual
membership directory
• Communicates with SRP
and reports on their expansion
plans to increase reliable
electrical service to the Rio
Verde Foothills
• Researched & reported
on the ballot choices regarding
school districts in the November
2006 election
• At the request of the
Fire Protection Steering Committee,
prepared and submitted thefollowing
to the committee as required
for the Impact Statement of
the proposed fire district:
• the
legal description
• the
district map
• the
complete list of all parcels
• Researched & reported
on the County Assessor’s
elimination of the open range
grazingproperty tax status
• Worked with MCDOT to
identify corners where street
signs were needed
• Has hosted the following

protection issues

seat on the APS Citizen Working
Group, which evaluates APS
alternatives for their expansion
